Social Value

Helping People Recognise Their Skills, Prepare for Opportunity and Progress Through Working Life

Social value begins with people: the skills they recognise, the opportunities they can pursue and the confidence and responsibility they develop throughout life.

CVGO Digital provides individuals with one live, private and individual-controlled digital licence through which they can record their development, organise important information, prepare for opportunities and carry their evidence forward from age 14 through to retirement.

By bringing structure, guidance and continuity to a process that can otherwise feel fragmented, CVGO Digital aims to help people become better organised, better prepared and more able to take ownership of what comes next.

Recognising Skills

Recognising Skills That Might Otherwise Be Overlooked

Valuable Development Happens Inside and Outside Formal Education and Employment

People develop valuable skills through education, employment, self-employment, projects, volunteering, caring responsibilities, travel and everyday experiences.

However, individuals do not always recognise this development or know how to explain its relevance when applying for education, training, apprenticeships or employment.

CVGO Digital helps individuals connect their experiences with relevant skills, knowledge and behaviours, record supporting evidence and communicate their transferable capabilities more clearly.

This can include the 13 Core Skills identified within the UK Standard Skills Classification:

  • Planning and Organising
  • Adapting
  • Working With Others
  • Listening
  • Speaking
  • Leadership
  • Learning and Investigating
  • Creating
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making
  • Numeracy
  • Digital Literacy
  • Reading
  • Writing

The experience alone does not automatically prove a skill. CVGO Digital encourages individuals to consider what they did, what they learned and what relevant evidence they can provide.

Preparedness & Employability

Supporting Preparedness, Employability and Positive Destinations

Helping Individuals Approach Their Next Steps with Greater Clarity

Education providers work hard to prepare learners for further education, training, apprenticeships, employment and self-employment.

CVGO Digital complements that support by giving individuals somewhere to organise their achievements, qualifications, experiences and evidence while developing positive habits around preparation and professional communication.

Practical guides and adaptable templates help individuals understand opportunities, prepare applications, research organisations, plan for interviews, ask relevant questions and respond professionally.

Application tracking, reminders and Profile Check responses provide greater visibility throughout the process, helping individuals stay informed and manage what happens next.

Take time to understand what is required, prepare the relevant information and proceed when ready.

Reducing Barriers

Reducing Practical Barriers to Opportunity

Supporting People From Different Backgrounds and Starting Points

Fragmented information, limited confidence, unclear application processes and difficulty communicating experience can create practical barriers to progression.

CVGO Digital cannot guarantee access to an opportunity or determine an outcome. It can, however, provide structure and guidance that help individuals:

  • Recognise transferable skills
  • Organise relevant information and evidence
  • Prepare for applications and interviews
  • Communicate their capabilities more clearly
  • Maintain visibility of applications and responses
  • Make more informed decisions about their next steps

Clear workflows and controlled sharing support individuals with different educational backgrounds, confidence levels, career stages and routes into work. The aim is not to create one standard journey. It is to help more people present their development clearly and participate in opportunities with greater preparation and confidence.

Ownership & Behaviours

Developing Ownership and Professional Behaviours

Encouraging Responsibility from the Beginning

Organisation, reliability, responsibility and accountability are important throughout education, employment and adult life. CVGO Digital encourages individuals to take ownership of their information and development by maintaining accurate records, managing important dates, preparing before acting and deciding what information to share.

Reminders and renewal alerts help individuals plan ahead, respond before deadlines and keep relevant qualifications, licences, certificates and other records current. These habits support work readiness, independence and continuing development while reinforcing the importance of maintaining reliable evidence throughout working life.

Education providers and organisations can enable access to CVGO Digital. The individual remains responsible for managing their licence and controlling what they share.

Lifelong Learning

Supporting Lifelong Learning and Workforce Resilience

One Continuing Licence Through Changing Lives and Careers

Working lives do not always follow one uninterrupted route. Individuals may move through education, travel, employment, self-employment, family life, caring responsibilities, career breaks, returning to work, retraining, reskilling and career changes.

CVGO Digital provides continuity across these stages. Whatever the job, career, sector or industry, individuals continue using the same licence and update their information as their circumstances and development change.

Existing skills, achievements, experience and evidence remain organised and available to carry forward — supporting lifelong learning, adaptability, career progression and workforce participation.

One licence. Every stage. No starting again.

Learner Voice

Learner Voice, Shared Experience and Continuous Improvement

Giving Individuals a Voice Throughout Their Journey

CVGO Digital includes optional polls and feedback tools through which individuals can share their experiences of education, training, work placements, applications, employment, wellbeing and career development.

Responses can help identify recurring challenges, shared experiences and emerging trends across different ages and stages of working life.

Individual responses are not shared with employers or other users. Findings may be used in aggregated or de-identified form to improve CVGO Digital, strengthen support and contribute to a better understanding of the issues people experience.

Learner and workforce insight should not simply be collected. It should be used responsibly to inform improvement.

Evidence-Based Review

Supporting Responsible and Evidence-Based Review

Greater Structure Without Replacing Organisational Responsibility

Profile Check enables an individual to share selected information for structured review while retaining control over what the recipient can see. Timestamped records can show what was reviewed, the evidence considered and the actions taken, supporting greater visibility, consistency and accountability.

CVGO Digital provides structure and an audit trail. It does not make recruitment, procurement, safeguarding, due diligence or compliance decisions. Responsibility for reviewing evidence, assessing competence and making decisions remains with the relevant organisation and appropriately authorised people.

Demonstrating Social Value

Demonstrating Social Value

Turning Intended Outcomes into Measurable Evidence

The social value of CVGO Digital should be demonstrated through evidence rather than assumed from access to the platform alone.

Depending on the programme and agreed data protections, relevant measures may include:

  • Learner participation and continued engagement
  • Experiences, achievements and transferable skills recorded
  • Evidence and important documents maintained
  • Use of guides, templates and preparation resources
  • Applications created and tracked
  • Reminders and renewal alerts acted upon
  • Learner-reported preparedness and confidence
  • Progression and positive-destination information
  • Recurring themes identified through polls and feedback

Measures should be agreed with the education provider or organisation, collected lawfully and reported appropriately, with individual privacy protected.

Long-Term Social Value

Long-Term Social Value

Social value is not created by technology alone. It is created through the behaviours people develop, the barriers they overcome, the opportunities they pursue and the progress they make.

CVGO Digital exists to give individuals greater structure, continuity and ownership throughout education and working life — helping them recognise their development, prepare more effectively and move forward with clearer evidence of what they can offer.

Better organised. Better prepared. Better equipped for what comes next.
